Shaquita Goodman is a Correctional Probation Senior Officer for Florida’s Department of Corrections (FDOC) in Lee County, FL.
She has a background in Mental Health Targeted Case Management and Child Protective Services. After working the past three years for FDOC, Shaquita witnessed the need for more mental health and substance abuse treatment services for offenders and their families.
In January of 2020, she began her journey to complete the online Masters of Social Work program at the Florida State University. She was also accepted into the Leadership in Executive and Administrative Development (LEAD) certification program.
In January of 2021, Shaquita began her generalist field education with Providence Family Life Center under the supervision of Mrs. Antoinette Kruse.
As a part-time first-year intern, she has completed interviews to prepare comprehensive Biopsychosocial assessments for clients receiving payee services at Providence. She has also utilized her coursework to influence the client-practitioner relationship when working to assist clients experiencing mental health issues and homelessness with the application for SSI/SSDI though the SOAR program.
Shaquita is currently working towards psychoeducation trainings, vocational rehabilitation workshops, and life-skills groups within Providence at the local Homeless Resource Day Center.
