Nicole Calderone, MSW
Nicole Calderone is an Assistant Public Defender and the Mental Health Coordinator for the 20th Judicial Circuit. She is a criminal trial attorney with an emphasis on mental health litigation. After being on a trial track for a few years, Nicole became extremely passionate about criminal competency and the incarceration of mentally ill individuals. Her focus area is on competence to proceed, baker acts, and mental health mitigation. Nicole has a master’s degree in Criminology from the University of Cincinnati. She is a recent graduate of Florida State University with a master’s in Social Work. Nicole completed her clinical internship at Providence Family Life Center focusing on guardianship and continues to look for new ways to bridge the gaps in mental health services in our local community.
